The quayside container crane (ship-to-shore, STS) is the dedicated container handling machine on the wharf apron, used for loading containers onto and discharging them from vessels. It is the core asset in any container terminal. Rated capacity under spreader 35t. Rail gauge 16~16~22m. Design, manufacturing, and inspection comply with Chinese standards and international codes including FEM, DIN, IEC, and AWS.

The STS crane consists of three major systems: the electrical control system, the steel structure, and the mechanical mechanisms. It applies advanced technologies such as vector variable-frequency drive, regenerative energy feedback, and torque balance control, delivering outstanding performance, large lifting capacity, long outreach, and real-time monitoring. Distributed bus control and fibre-optic communication ensure high noise immunity and system stability. A CMS (condition monitoring system) provides real-time operational status tracking. Automatic fault detection with live data display enhances safety and reliability. The boom can luff up to 80° to allow unobstructed vessel passage. Multiple operation modes are supported: manual, semi-automatic, and remote automatic.
